Vanessa Research Brings Microvillus Inclusion Disease Education to Arabic-speaking Audiences

Hamden, CT – Vanessa Research Inc. (VRI) is pleased to announce the launch of its educational website focused on microvillus inclusion disease (MVID) translated into the Arabic language. The website explains the mechanism of MVID, provides targeted resources both for doctors and caregivers, and publishes new scientific research and other pertinent news and information related to this rare genetic disease.

MVID is an exceedingly rare genetic disorder causing affected infants to develop persistent and severe diarrhea within hours, days, or months after birth. This prevents patients from taking in necessary nutrition – resulting in dehydration, malnutrition, stunted growth, and in most cases, a significantly shortened lifespan. While MVID is extremely rare, many of the documented cases are located in the Middle East, driving VRI to focus on bringing information about the disease to this region. Recently, VRI also translated its educational website and video into the Turkish language.

Laszlo Dinca, Business and Operations at VRI, commented: “Many MVID patients are located in the Middle East, and translating our educational materials into Arabic will allow us to bring the message closer to those families who are directly impacted by this devastating disease.”

VRI plans to continue to spread awareness and reliable information on MVID globally, given the company’s mission to “give hope where none existed” by focusing on diseases that are overlooked due to their rarity. The company’s dedicated MVID educational website and video, translated into the Arabic language, can be found at:
